0x80042109
Task 'SMTP server name - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x80042109):
'Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server.
If you continue to receive this message, contact the server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Cause:
This issue you describe may be caused by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) blocking the SMTP Port 25 .

This has become a very common practice nowadays from ISPs as spam has only become an even bigger growing concern. ISPs block port 25 for all servers except for their own in an effort to direct all mail their subscribers send through their mail servers. This way they can monitor all mail that they are responsible for and take any necessary action.

Solution:
You can change the settings of your SMTP port within your email client by going to the email account properties > 'More Settings' button, and selecting the Advanced tab or SMTP tab. Change the SMTP Port from 25 to 587, and please try to send/receive once more.
